Well, we made it to the fast charger in IL. But just barely. We had less than 5 miles of range left.

Once we passed Corydon, IN, the traffic thinned to the point we could use cruise control. It was set between 68-72 mph, trying to keep pace with traffic flow. The air temp was 90 degrees.

As the gap between the range available and miles left to travel begin to get closer, we had to only use the air conditioner sparingly to even make it.

There are 4 fast chargers at this location. All 4 were experiencing errors. After calling the service number, they finally got one charger working. After 1 hour and 45 minutes, the car was only charged 40%. On a level 3 charger, It should take a max of 50 min to get to 80%.

We called back and they had us move the car to a different charger in the bank. It worked for a few minutes to get us to 50% and then stopped working.

We are back to the slow charger and the car is at 53% with an estimated 80 minutes to charge the car to 80%.

The good news...they aren’t charging us to use the station. The bad news....we are killing about 4 hours in Mt. Vernon IL.

Stay tuned....we have about 90 more miles to get to our destination.
