The Washington Youth Tour is an all-expenses-paid trip to the nation's capital, where seven (7) high school juniors from Blue Grass Energy's service area will meet students from throughout Kentucky and the United States.
You'll spend one week, June 19-25, 2020, touring the U.S. Capitol, the Smithsonian Institute, Arlington National Cemetery, the White House and numerous memorials and monuments.
You'll meet with Kentucky's national representatives in Congress and learn about electric cooperatives' roll in national government.
It all begins in Frankfort on Tuesday, March 17, 2020. You'll spend a day in Kentucky's capital, learning about state government, touring state offices and meeting with elected officials.

Rules for entry
1. Eligible applicants are high school juniors living with a parent or guardian who is a Blue Grass Energy member.
2. All contestants are required to write a letter of 300 words or less to one of their elected officials on the topic of their choice.
3. All contestants will have an interview and will take a brief quiz on cooperatives at Blue Grass Energy's headquarters office in Nicholasville. This link will take you to a study guide. Contestants will be notified of an interview time after the application is received.
Applications must be submitted by Friday, February 28, 2020. Late applications will not be considered.
