Blue Grass Energy Announces Scholarship Recipients

Blue Grass Energy is pleased to announce the winners of our 2017 Scholarship Program. Eleven $1,000 scholarships are being awarded to graduating seniors served by Blue Grass Energy.

Anna Arthur is the daughter of Allen and Allyson Arthur of Cynthiana. She is graduating from Harrison County High School.

Nicholas Belen is the son of Robert and Rita Belen of Frankfort. He is graduating from Western Hills High School.

Virginia Deaver is the daughter of Ron and Bhana Deaver of Berea. She is graduating from Berea Independent Schools.

Elizabeth Gordon is the daughter of Mary Waldridge of Waddy. She is graduating from Shelby County High School.

Jessica Justice is the daughter of Kevin and Angel Justice of Nicholasville. She is graduating from West Jessamine High School.

Hayden Knight is the son of Duane and Christine Knight of Berea. He is graduating from Madison Southern High School.

Eliza Lavin is the daughter of Casey and Michelle Lavin of Versailles. She is graduating from New Horizon Academy.

Kaitlyn Maricle is the daughter of Holly Weyl of Nicholasville. She is graduating from East Jessamine High School.

Alexis Roark is the daughter of Roy and Crystal Smith of Brooksville. She is graduating from Bracken County High School.

Lukas Slucher is the son of Steve and Mary Slucher of Cynthiana. He is graduating from Harrison County High School.

Kyler Williams is the son of Charles and Sherri Williams of Cynthiana. He is graduating from Harrison County High School.

Each recipient will spend a work day at the cooperative later in the summer.  They will learn more about Blue Grass Energy, the cooperative business model and tour a power plant.

Since beginning this program in 1991, Blue Grass Energy has awarded over $250,000 in scholarships to students in our area. Scholarships are based on academic achievement, extracurricular activities, and financial need.

Investing in the future of our young members is just one of the many ways we are making life better, the cooperative way.
