Blue Grass Energy Announces Scholarship Recipients

Blue Grass Energy is pleased to announce the winners of our 2016 Scholarship Program. Eleven $1,000 scholarships were awarded to graduating seniors served by Blue Grass Energy.

Mary Adams is the daughter of Joseph and Allyson Adams. She is graduating from East Jessamine High School.

Amelia Bolin is the daughter of Gregory and Candace Bolin. She is graduating from Harrison County High School.

Jacob Burdine is the son of Kenny Burdine and Sarah Wilcox. He is graduating from East Jessamine High School.

Abigail Cain is the daughter of Sean Cain and Monica Cain. She is graduating from East Jessamine High School.

Mary Crump is the daughter of Anthony and Sharon Crump. She is graduating from Bourbon County High School.

Benjamin Eipert is the son of Robert and Mary Eipert. He is graduating from Madison Southern High School.

Mary Furnish is the daughter of Brian and Amy Furnish. She is graduating from Harrison County High School.

Emily Hamilton is the daughter of Tracy and Doris Hamilton. She is graduating from Mercer County High School.

Rebecca Kinder is the daughter of Lisa Martin. She is graduating from Western Hills High School.

Samantha McGehee is the daughter of James and Pamela McGehee. She is graduating from Henry Clay High School.

Aaron Ransdell is the son of Traci Ransdell. He is graduating from Tates Creek High School.

Each recipient will spend a work day at the cooperative later in the summer.  They will learn more about Blue Grass Energy, the cooperative business model and tour a power plant.

Since beginning this program in 1991, Blue Grass Energy has awarded nearly $200,000 in scholarships to students in our area. Scholarships are based on academic achievement, extracurricular activities, and financial need.
