Outages Anticipated To Last Into Wednesday For Some Members
Sunday night, a very heavy, wet snow fell across a large part of our service area. The weight of the snowfall has caused numerous trees, limbs and wires to either sag or fall, resulting in over 7,000 members without power.
All BGEnergy crews have been working since early morning. By this evening, we will have an additional 61 linemen from other cooperatives and contractors assisting us in restoration.
Replacing poles and wire is a very labor intensive task. Many of the areas where lines or trees are down are not accessible with our equipment, which adds additional time to make repairs. But rest assured, our employees are working as safely and swiftly as possible to serve you.
However, even with employees working around the clock, we are anticipating restoration to be complete by sometime Wednesday. As projected times become known, they will be updated in our outage viewer . When an outage is selected in the viewer, any known information will be displayed in the details.
