Blue Grass Energy sent crews to Florida for anticipated power restoration aid resulting from Hurricane Matthew
On Friday morning, Oct. 7, Blue Grass Energy sent eight linemen with heavy duty equipment to assist in repairing anticipated damage in the wake of Hurricane Matthew. Crews will be working for Clay Electric, an electric cooperative near Gainesville, serving nearly 170,000 members in 14 north Florida counties.
Blue Grass Energy is one of several electric co-ops in Kentucky to send crews. Counting tree trimming and contracted construction personnel, there are 50 workers from Blue Grass Energy heading south to aid in the aftermath of this historic storm. This is an effort coordinated by the Kentucky Association of Electric Cooperatives.
